KEEPING OUR AREA SAFE

For the last 22+ years Community Patrol Riccarton Inc. has kept a watchful eye over the Riccarton area. Patrolling a predominately residential area of aproximately 1590 hectares, including 298 streets, the patrol has become a reassuring sight on our community's streets.

Over 150 people have joined the patrol over the years, with patrollers aged from 12 to 82 years old. The team act as extra "eyes and ears" for the Police, and the wellbeing of the community.

The volunteers patrol the area within the boundary streets of: Deans Avenue, Fendalton Road, Clyde Road, Creyke Road, Maidstone Road, Withells Road, Yaldhurst Road, Racecourse Road, Epsom Road, Sockburn Roundabout, Blenheim Road, the over bridge and return to Deans Avenue.

1549 Trolleys Located Annually

Community Patrol Riccarton actively search, locate and record the location of shopping trolleys in the area. This infomation is then passed back to the trolley's owner so they can be collected.

AED Now Onboard

Every patrol now has an AED (Automated external defibrillator) onboard. (AED) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation. The application of electrical therapy stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.Awaiting Delivery
